2006 Winner - Mike Hamilton

My last official duty as Commodore of the Moriches Yacht Club is the difficult task of choosing the Member of the Year from so many dedicated and hard-working members.

In 2006, Mike Hamilton put in extraordinary efforts in two arenas: as our Grounds Chairman, taking care of the grounds and making sure the trash was removed in a timely fashion; and also as the driving force behind the numerous outdoor children's activities that were held during the year. The children of MYC were treated to campfires, campout nights, movie nights at MYC, and a Wiffle Ball tournament.

Mike has shown great enthusiasm and dedication to our yacht club, and it is due to his many achievements this past year that I nominate him for the Moriches Yacht Club Member of the Year.
